Melissa L. PIERRE / Founder and Project Manager
Melissa Pierre is currently a student registered nurse anesthetist (SRNA) at Barry University, where she is pursuing a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree. Before embarking on her nursing career, she worked as an interpreter in Haiti’s mission field. Over the past five years, Melissa has served as an ICU RN in various hospitals, where she has utilized her skills as a translator in four languages to assist medical teams and patients. She is also the founder of LanguagePro Services, bringing a diverse set of skills and expertise to her team.
Jean Abel PIERRE, Ph.D / Founder and CEO
Dr. Pierre holds a Ph.D. in Sociology from University Paris-Sorbonne (France) and a Master’s degree in Teaching foreign languages from Université des Antilles et de la Guyane (Martinique). Prior to co-founding LPS in 2023, Dr. Pierre was a Language and Cultural Instructor at the Foreign Service Institute (FSI) of the US Department of State (Washington D.C.) for more than 10 years. During his time of service, he was also a Certified tester using the Interagency Language Roundtable (IRL) rating scale, which is widely accepted by government agencies and the education sector in the U.S. In 2014, he received the Dean’s Coin distinction in recognition of excellence in mentoring new teaching staff. Dr. Pierre has also worked as the Executive Administrator for Stone of Help Haiti, a Non-profit organization that is focused on implementation and improvement of educational programs throughout Haiti. Eliana Văgălău, Ph.D / Project Manager
Dr. Văgălău has been a language and literature teacher of Francophone and Italophone literatures for more than 20 years and is currently associate professor At Loyola University. She has under her belt an extensive knowledge of successful language program as evidenced by her current positions as Undergraduate Program Director and Course coordinator at the same University. In addition to her outstanding teaching experience, Dr. Văgălău brings to the managing team of LPS many years of comprehensive translation skills, project broadcasting insights, and transversal cultures from over 5 languages (Romanian (native), English, French, Italian (near-native).
